Israeli Official Blames Lebanon for Drone Assault on Netanyahu's Home

In a significant escalation of rhetoric, Gideon Sa’ar, chairman of the New Hope party and a member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's security cabinet, has squarely blamed Lebanon for a recent drone attack on Netanyahu's residence.

The attack, which targeted Netanyahu's home in Caesarea, was attributed to Hezbollah, a group Sa’ar described as an Iranian proxy.

"From the territory of a UN member state — Lebanon — an assassination attempt was made on the prime minister of Israel. From the Lebanese territory, Israel, its communities, and citizens have been attacked since October 8 for no reason," Sa’ar wrote on X.

"The fact that these attacks were carried out by an Iranian proxy — Hezbollah — does not absolve Lebanon of responsibility. And it won’t be absolved," he asserted.
