On March 2, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel – though the decision for it to do so was almost certainly made by Iran – carrying Lebanon into a new war with Israeli forces. On the same day, Lebanon's government declared Hezbollah's military and security activities illegal. Shortly thereafter, army commander General Rodolphe Haykal made it clear to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam that the military did not have the means to implement the government's decision. Now, the Lebanese army finds itself in an uncomfortable position.

At around 2:00 pm today, Israeli military aircraft conducted an airstrike on the outskirts of Yaroun, heading towards the city of Bint Jbeil. They fired four air-to-surface missiles at the specified location, causing billowing clouds of smoke to appear in the sky.
Furthermore, Israeli warplanes bombed the town of Chihine, targeting a house in the town, resulting in the death of two members of the Amal movement and injuring a third.
Rescue operations are ongoing to search for unidentified individuals under the rubble.
The Israeli airstrikes also targeted Ramyeh and Marwahin.
