Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Friday that Israel is determined to defeat Hezbollah “one way or another,” as the Israeli army continue airstrikes against the group and push troops deeper into southern Lebanon.

“No resident in the north should have to leave their homes or communities,” Katz said during a briefing with senior army officers, according to his office. “Our mission is to ensure and guarantee their safety and security.”

The defense minister said the Israeli army has reinforced its positions within the Lebanese territory and significantly expanded the number of locations under its control.

“We will continue these operations until Hezbollah is defeated, one way or another,” Katz added, underlining Israel’s ongoing military commitment to the conflict in Lebanon.
