Israel’s military chief said that fighting against Hezbollah in Lebanon remains the country’s main priority, stressing that operations are ongoing despite a ceasefire reached with Iran.
Speaking during a visit to positions on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Israeli forces are still actively engaged along the Lebanese front, describing it as the army’ “primary combat zone.”
“The Israeli army is in a state of war. We are not in a ceasefire,” Zamir said, according to a video released by the military on Friday. “We continue to fight here in this sector; this is our main arena of combat.”
Zamir emphasized that while hostilities with Iran are paused, the situation remains fluid.
“In Iran, there is a ceasefire,” he said. “But we can resume fighting there at any moment, and with significant force.”
