They were killed in a strike that targeted their house in a Palestinian refugee camp in the southern city of Tyre in the early hours of Monday, the Hamas statement said.
Later, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees said that Fateh Sherif was an UNRWA employee, but noted that he was being probed over his political activities.
“Fateh Al Sharif was an UNRWA employee who was put on administrative leave without pay in March, and was undergoing an investigation following allegations that UNRWA received about his political activities,” UNRWA said.
In a series of devastating airstrikes across southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, Baalbek-Hermel, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, Israeli forces have killed over 100 people and left hundreds more injured.
Dozens of Hezbollah targets have been struck in Lebanon on Monday morning, the Israeli military announced, noting that fighter jets hit launchers and buildings storing Hezbollah weapons in the eastern Bekaa region over a two-hour period.
"In addition, fighter jets attacked military buildings that were used by the terrorist organization Hezbollah for terrorist activities against the State of Israel in various areas in southern Lebanon," it said.
"The Israel Defence Forces will continue to attack powerfully, damage and degrade Hezbollah's military capabilities and infrastructure in Lebanon," the military statement reaffirmed.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health confirmed that the strikes, carried out over the past 24 hours, killed 105 people and injured 359 others. The wave of attacks has caused significant destruction and brought further chaos to already volatile regions.
The violence also took a heavy toll on humanitarian workers as five members of the Civil Defense from the Islamic Health Authority were killed when Israeli airstrikes hit their facility in the town of Sahmour.
