Israeli airstrikes targeted the southern Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh on Tuesday evening, injuring 24 people, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
The Israeli military confirmed the strikes, stating they had targeted vehicles allegedly used by Hezbollah to transport weapons in the Nabatiyeh area.
"The truck and vehicles were struck after being monitored by the Israeli army while transferring the weapons," the military said in a statement.
The first airstrike, conducted at around 7:30 PM, hit a pickup truck near Rawdat School in Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa. The explosion injured seven passersby, ignited parked cars, and sent shockwaves across nearby areas. The second strike followed an hour later, targeting a location near the Farah Rest Stop on the Zawtar-Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa road, injuring additional people.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center confirmed that 24 individuals sustained injuries across both strikes, with varying levels of severity.
Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attacks, calling them a "clear violation of the ceasefire agreement with Israel." Mikati's office issued a statement saying he had spoken with U.S. General Jasper Jeffers, head of the committee overseeing ceasefire implementation, urging international efforts to pressure Israel to comply with its obligations under international law.
