Israeli Airstrikes Hit Beirut Suburbs, Target Media Office

Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday evening, targeting the areas of Ouzai and Haret Hreik without prior warning. The strikes hit residential areas and a media office, according to local reports.

One of the strikes in Ouzai hit an apartment on the second floor of a building, while another targeted an apartment belonging to the Beirut office of Al Mayadeen TV in the Jnah-Ouzai area.

The pro-Iran broadcaster confirmed that an Israeli strike hit an office it had  vacated since the start of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon. In an official statement, the channel condemned the strike, accusing Israel of violating international laws that protect media outlets and holding it fully responsible for the attack on its office.

Security forces quickly sealed off the area, preventing civilians from approaching the site.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported at least 10 Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, after the Israeli army issued an evacuation warning for the area.

NNA said four Israeli strikes hit a residential complex near the southern suburb of Laylaki, “completely destroying it and causing a large fire”.

On thursday, the Israeli army said it hit several Hezbollah weapons production facilities in overnight strikes on the group’s south Beirut stronghold of Dahiyeh.

“Air Force fighter jets conducted accurate intelligence-based strikes overnight on several weapons storage and manufacturing facilities belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the area of Dahiyeh in Beirut,” the military said in a statement, noting that all the weapons factories “were situated under and inside civilian buildings in the heart of a civilian neighborhood."
