The management of Iraqi Airways announced today, Monday, the resumption of direct flights for the national carrier to Iran, starting from next Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The Iraqi Ministry of Transport stated in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency that the new operational plan will include regular daily flights from Najaf International Airport to the airports of Mashhad, Tehran, and Isfahan.
It added that the resumption of flights aims to enhance the flow of passenger movement and provide regular air transport options between Iraq and Iranian cities.
The ministry indicated that the resumption of flights comes as part of its efforts to reactivate air transport and enhance air connectivity between Iraq and various regional destinations.
