Historic Excavation Activities Cautiously Begin Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thursday, marks the launch of excavation and exploration activities in Lebanon to uncover potential gas and oil reserves in the sea, a day regarded as a "historic" day.

These activities, starting in Block 9 about 120 kilometers from Beirut, will be seen as a unique breakthrough after multiple crises faced by Lebanon, yet overshadowed by cautious hopes due to concerns about overhyping expectations for an important file that should not be exploited for political or sectarian purposes.

Awaiting the first crucial round of excavation after 67 days since its commencement to reveal the actual volume of gas in the stored block.

"An-Nahar" newspaper believes that any attempt to manipulate this event, which has been long-awaited and should be discussed by true experts and stakeholders only, would serve as a political distraction that will not be taken seriously or believed in.
