Army Commander General Rudolf Heikal received U.S. Congress members Darin LaHood and Josh Gottheimer along with an accompanying delegation in his office in Yarzeh, where the latest updates and developments in Lebanon and the region were presented, and ways to overcome the difficulties and challenges facing the army in carrying out its assigned missions were discussed, as well as the missions being carried out by the army across Lebanese territory.

During the meeting, Mr. LaHood praised the sacrifices of the military personnel, highlighting the importance of the army's role in maintaining security and stability in the country.

General Heikal also received the Governor of the South, Mansour Daou, who commended the cooperation between the army and the citizens and its support for them amid the current circumstances. 

He also received Elias Youssef Maroun, Secretary General of the American Lebanese Council (ALC), who affirmed the support of the Lebanese expatriates for the military institution. In turn, General Heikal praised the efforts aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Lebanese diaspora and their homeland.
