Health Ministry: More than 50 Percent of Those Eligible Have Received a COVID-19 Vaccine

More than half of those eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination in Lebanon have received one, according to the report published by the Health Ministry on Wednesday.

Here’s what we know:

    • According to the report, 50.9 percent of eligible people have received a first dose of vaccine and 43.1 percent have received a second dose. Lebanon on Wednesday recorded three deaths and 188 new cases of the coronavirus.

    • Health Minister Firass Abiad announced last week an easing of the measures related to COVID-19. Fully vaccinated travelers no longer have to present a negative PCR test result upon arrival at Beirut International Airport, and restrictions imposed at tourist locations and restaurants have been lifted.
