Hassan Stresses Importance of Adhering to Virus Preventive Measures

Caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hassan on Tuesday stressed the importance of adhering to the preventive measures regarding the Coronavirus pandemic so that the July scenario won’t happen again, even though the ratio of community immunity has hit 50%.

“The migrants have a responsibility towards the Lebanese people by getting vaccinated and being quarantined after having a PCR test,” Hassan told Al-Jadeed news channel.

“We don’t want to record a third wave of the virus namely after what we have experienced during the past months,” he said.

“The Lebanese university is testing all patients at the Rafic Hariri International Airport to detect any presence of the virus,” he noted.

“There is a rapprochement between the number of cases in Lebanon and the number of people who got the first shot of the vaccine, but there is a huge difference between the death toll and the two mentioned sides,” he pointed out.

Hassan affirmed that there is no removal of subsidies regarding medications, saying that there is a committee that has identified 50% of medications in Lebanon’s warehouses.

“These Medications will be liberalized starting Thursday after Lebanon’s Central Bank financial approval,” he said.
