On the 42nd anniversary of President-elect Bachir Gemayel's assassination, MP Elias Hankach shared a powerful tribute to the late leader, highlighting how Gemayel's legacy continues to resonate throughout Lebanon.

In a post on the social media platform "X", Hankach stressed that Bachir Gemayel’s presence remains deeply embedded in the hearts and minds of the Lebanese people even after more than four decades.

“What brings us the most solace and joy on this anniversary is that after 42 years, Bachir’s pictures still adorn every home and street, his speeches still echo in cars and squares, and his name is still on everyone’s lips and in every speech,” Hankach wrote.

Hankach contrasted Gemayel’s enduring legacy with the fate of his killers. “As for his murderous killers, they remain hiding like rats and disguising themselves like cowards,” he added, pointing to the lingering impunity surrounding the assassination that shocked the nation in 1982.
