Hankach: Pierre Gemayel's Martyrdom Inspired Us to Struggle for a Country that Resembles Us

Kataeb Lawmaker Elias Hankach noted that martyr Pierre Gemayel succeeded in everything he worked for and left his mark in the Parliament at both legislative and political levels, saying that he formulated an unprecedented industrial vision and plan in the Ministry of Industry.

"When martyr Pierre Gemayel was fighting on a national level, he rose to the level of a martyr, defending Lebanon and the Lebanese cause. During his tenure in the Ministry of Industry, Gemayel improved the image of Lebanese industry through campaigns he conducted in the ministry,” Hankach said in an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station.

“Pierre’s goal was to empower Lebanese youth and develop human capacities. Despite the grim picture at the time of assassinations, Pierre did not stop but increased his determination,” he went on saying.

The Kataeb Lawmaker recalled martyr Pierre Gemayel on the 17th anniversary of his assassination, saying: "Pierre Gemayel's martyrdom inspired us to struggle for a country that resembles us.”

In the same context, Hankach wrote on “X” platform: “With your modesty and high ethics, you touched the hearts of the Lebanese. With your principles, constants and projects, you influenced the minds of the Lebanese. In your party, you worked for revival, and in the Parliament, you were the voice of sovereignty. In the Ministry of Industry, you worked day and night."

“It's true that you left us, and we miss you, but you are present with us every day. We promise to carry your project and work to achieve your dream,” Hankach said addressing martyr Pierre Gemayel.
