MP Elias Hankash called on Hezbollah to immediately hand over its weapons to the Lebanese Army and the country’s legitimate authorities, emphasizing that the army is the only institution capable of protecting all citizens, including the party’s own supporters.

In a video posted on the Lebanese Forces’ website, Hankash said Hezbollah’s arsenal has “proven incapable of establishing a deterrent balance with Israel, has failed to protect the Lebanese people, has offered no meaningful support, and has brought nothing but disaster to Lebanon.”

He warned that weapons operating outside State authority are a threat to the country’s future, affirming that the Lebanese people "will no longer be held hostage to the party’s adventures and its arsenal."

“No one protects us except the Lebanese Army and the State,” he stressed. “Hezbollah must be convinced to surrender its weapons immediately.”
