MP Elias Hankach sharply criticized Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, accusing the group of dragging Lebanon into wars, defying state authority, and threatening government officials.
In a post on his X account, Hankach wrote that Hezbollah “dragged Lebanon into a war that killed, destroyed, and displaced” and “reassured Israel that its northern border was safe under its guarantee.” He added that the group “escalated against state legitimacy and defied its decisions.”
Hankach accused Qassem of personally threatening Lebanese officials.
“He threatened the Lebanese if they touched the weapons north of the Litani River. He threatened the justice minister over measures to regulate cash. He threatened the Central Bank governor after issuing his circular,” Hankach wrote.
Concluding his remarks, Hankach addressed Qassem directly: “We ask Sheikh Naim: Where exactly are you trying to take us?”
