Gemayel : We Are Experiencing a Different Kind of Occupation by an External Team that Is Trying to Put Its Grip on Lebanon

Kataeb candidate for the Maronite seat in Beirut district Nadim Gemayel said that they have been told in 2004 that they were dreaming, that their struggle and resistance will not reach a result but within three months the Syrian has left Lebanon due to the will and the determination.

“Resistance has began in 1978 and did not end on March 14, 2005. The Achrafieh and Lebanon fought the Syrians in every village and city, from Ashrafieh to Qanat and Zahle. We decided to preserve Lebanon and we did. They destroyed Qanat and they left on April 26, while we remained steadfast,” Gemayel said on the seventeeth anniversary of the withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon.

“Many have tried to occupy Lebanon and left humiliated, and today we are experiencing a different kind of occupation by an external team that is trying, through its components to put its grip on Lebanon and its free decision,” he noted.

The Kataeb candidate stressed the rejection of the Iranian occupation of Lebanon, saying that the Kataeb party will fight it and resist it by all available means as this occupation will neither change Lebanon’s identity nor economy.

“We cannot be defeated, even if we are tired, because our decision and our determination are stronger than their projects and plans,” he stressed.

“May legislative elections are important and you have to decide between surrender and confrontation, hell and free economy,” he said addressing the Lebanese voters.

“Choose the right candidates not those who were supporting the Syrian regime. We cannot accept someone who put himself at the disposal of the Syrian and raised the image of Bachar El Assad in Achrafieh,” he emphasized.

“Achrafieh will remain loyal and will not change. They have assassinated Pierre Gemayel and Gebran Tueini as they could have overturned the equations,” he stressed.

“Who said that the majority was right?" he asked.

“I rely on you on May 15 as you will prove them who was right,” he said addressing the Lebanese voters.
