Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel reiterated his party's commitment to supporting women and young girls survivors of violence, stressing the continuation of legislative struggle to achieve gender equality and ensure effective protection in cooperation with all concerned parties.

“In addition to the laws that we, as the Kataeb Party, have previously submitted to punish domestic violence and abolish honor killings, we have signed with "Kafa" organization a proposal for a unified civil personal status law. We have also signed with "Abaad" organization a draft law to toughen the penalties for crimes of sexual violence committed against women, young girls and minor children,” Gemayel tweeted.
