Gemayel on Hariri’s Martyrdom Anniversary: To Keep Fighting to Reclaim Hijacked State

Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel recalled Prime Minister Rafic Hariri on his 19th assassination anniversary.

"On the nineteenth anniversary of the February tragedy that resulted in the martyrdom of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, Minister Bassel Fleihan, and over twenty others, with a hundred wounded, justice remains elusive despite the verdicts of the International Court convicting the perpetrator. The court, with its evidence and arguments, established Hezbollah's implication, yet the party persists in shielding the culprits from accountability. It stands as a bulwark against truth, ensnaring it just as it captures the entire nation with its pervasive and destructive policies," Gemayel wrote on "X" platform.

"No peace nor stability in Lebanon without justice and accountability for all the crimes committed, to definitively put an end to the use of violence in politics, which has unfortunately become the norm in the land of freedom," he added.

"We renew our condolences to the families of the martyrs, especially the family of PM Hariri, his movement, and supporters, urging them to continue the struggle to reclaim the hijacked state and liberate its decision-making from the dominance of arms and the logic of militias," Gemayel concluded.
