Gemayel Hails National Achievements, Pledges Support for Aoun’s Efforts on Sovereignty and State Authority

Lebanese Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel emphasized the crucial role of state institutions in achieving national objectives, asserting that Lebanon's sovereignty can only be preserved through the full enforcement of state authority.

Gemayel pointed out that Lebanon’s progress on key issues has been made possible when state institutions are unified and in control, particularly in matters of national security.

"It becomes clearer every day that when the institutions are fully in place and the state exercises its full authority over sovereign matters, progress is made," Gemayel wrote on X.

The Kataeb leader cited several historic milestones as evidence of the state’s capacity to protect national interests effectively. He highlighted successes such as the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territories, the repatriation of prisoners held by Israel, and the ongoing border demarcation negotiations. According to Gemayel, these accomplishments showcase the state's ability to manage critical issues independently.

"From the ceasefire to the Israeli withdrawal, to the return of prisoners, and the border demarcation negotiations, all are proof of the state’s ability to achieve national interests without relying on anyone's favor," he said.

Gemayel concluded by expressing strong support for President Joseph Aoun and Lebanese diplomacy in their continued efforts to secure Lebanon's sovereignty. He praised their work to ensure that weapons are kept solely in the hands of the state and its official security and military institutions.

"Full support to President Joseph Aoun and Lebanese diplomacy for their efforts to strengthen sovereignty and place weapons exclusively in the hands of the state and its security and military institutions," Gemayel stated.
