Gemayel Calls Lebanese to Vote for Sovereign People Who Do Not Compromise

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Tuesday stressed that the Lebanese people do not follow leaders rather principles, saying that they have trusted many leaders but learned to never waver from principles.

“We are proud that our candidate in Baabda district is General Khalil Helou who is a clean person and does not compromise. Who deserves to represent Baabda in the upcoming parliament more than him?” Gemayel said during a popular gathering in Baabda.

“The revolution liberated minds and every citizen is now able to be liberated and vote for the right people so that we will have people like Khalil Helou in the next parliament,” he added.

“Members of two electoral lists in Baabda district have contributed in the election of Hezbollah’s ally as President and have voted on the current electoral law, fake budgets and taxes that have destroyed the lives of the Lebanese people. Moreover, these people have contributed in the renewal of Salameh’s term and were part of successive government that have committed mistakes and brought us to this deteriorated situation,” he noted.

The Kataeb leader called on the Lebanese people to vote for those who refused to be part of the Maarab settlement, saying that voting for the right people will put end to this tragedy.

“We should not give them a reward for destroying our lives during the past period and all the wrong decisions. After the polls, some of them will vote for Berri, and we will not vote for him nor for those responsible of this deteriorated situation the country is currently going through,” he affirmed.

"Vote for reformist and sovereign people who defend the Lebanese and do not compromise, neither in politics nor in the economy. There are conditions to rebuild a new Lebanon including sovereignty, decentralization, free economy and social justice,” he said.

“We, as the Kataeb party believe in free economy, social justice, individual initiative and strengthening the private sector,” he added.

“In 2018, you gave power to the blocs that have called themselves strong, so they deceived you, promised and lied, and made it clear that they used force to destroy your lives, and today you must withdraw the force from them and give it to those who deserve it,” he emphasized.

“We will remain as we are because we do not care about our lives, nor about ministerial or parliamentary seats. We only care about the Lebanese people,” he added.

“We rely on you as Baabda has sacrificed its most valuable people while defending the country. Do not leave anyone hiding behind other martyrs to justify his compromises,” he concluded.
