Lebanon and Deficient Sovereignty
In a televised interview, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam sought to outline a vision for bringing the state back into the sovereignty equation and breaking the link between the logic of the state and the logic of force. He insisted that decisions of war and peace must be made by the government alone, and that the era of foreign guardianship is over. Gemayel Calls for Seizing the Opportunity of Nasrallah's Negotiations with Israel to End Southern Land Borders File
Kataeb lawmaker Nadim Gemayel said that Lebanon should seize the opportunity after Nasrallah put an end to threats and was now supporting the negotiations with Israel.
"Mr. Hassan stopped launching threats and today he is supporting negotiations with Israel to find a solution to demarcate the maritime borders... We must seize this opportunity, negotiate the issue of Shebaa Farms and the Kfar Chouba Hills... and end the southern land borders file," Gemayel tweeted.
