France Provides Key Data in Beirut Port Explosion Investigation

A large portion of the investigation into the catastrophic Beirut port explosion has been completed, with only a few remaining gaps to fill before the inquiry can reach its conclusion, sources informed Al-Hadath.

However, no specific timeline has been set for when the investigation will be finalized.

The sources also revealed that a French judicial delegation is set to visit Beirut next Monday at the request of the Lebanese judiciary. The visit's purpose is to present the latest findings from France’s investigation into the explosion and to review Lebanon’s own probe results.

France has already provided Lebanon with its findings, which include soil analysis data and satellite images related to the explosion.

According to the sources, several countries have cooperated with Lebanon in the aftermath of the explosion by providing satellite imagery. This information will be made public once the investigation is fully completed.

The devastating port explosion, which occurred in August 2020, claimed the lives of more than 200 people, injured thousands, and caused extensive damage across the Lebanese capital.
