Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey have reportedly sent messages to Hezbollah urging the group to surrender its weapons to the Lebanese state, Lebanese government sources told Asharq Al-Awsat earlier this week.
The messages were described as “last-chance warnings,” intended to prevent an Israeli strike that could further isolate Hezbollah from both the Lebanese public and the international community.
The sources said the messages come amid mounting regional and international pressure on Hezbollah. Officials have warned that the group’s continued possession of arms outside state authority could leave Lebanon politically and economically isolated, while also heightening the risk of military confrontation.
