Why Netanyahu Is Calling for an End to U.S. Military Aid to Israel
The US has supplied arms to Israel since the early 1960s. But it was only in the late 1970s – following the October/Yom Kippur War of 1973 and the subsequent Egypt-Israel peace treaty of 1979 – that Israel became a major recipient of military aid from the US. Washington’s thinking at that time was twofold. It wanted to stave off any further existential threats to Israel by maintaining its Cold War ally’s qualitative edge in military technology over any Soviet backed Arab potential enemies. US military aid to both Israel and Egypt was also intended as a reward for the land-for-peace deal concluded between these two former enemies.

Price of Gasoline Rises, While Diesel and Household Gas Prices Fall
Fuel prices changed again Tuesday, with gasoline dropping in price and diesel and household gas increasing.
Here’s what we know:
• Twenty liters of 95-octane fuel dropped by LL3,000 to reach LL355,200, while 98-octane fuel dropped by LL3,400 to reach LL366,600.
• The price of diesel on the other hand rose by LL20,400 to reach LL335,200.
• A bottle of household gas rose by LL12,500 to reach LL283,600.
• In a statement, George Brax said “the discrepancy between the drop in the price of gasoline and the rise in the price of diesel and gas is caused by the rise in oil prices in global markets, a decline in the Sayrafa dollar price and an increase in the free market dollar price.”
