Lawmaker Mark Daou expressed his solidarity with Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel, saying that "every defamation and death threat campaign is evidence of the strength of the justice we demand to save Lebanon."
"Freedom of expression is above all considerations and in the face of oppression. What is happening openly on screens in front of millions of people is more honorable and truthful than the behind-the-scenes deals involving demarcation of borders and the regulation of conflicts, engaging in open negotiations with the enemy at the expense of Lebanon, its state, sovereignty, the safety of its people, and its territories," Daou wrote on "X" platform.
"Those who speak of the constitution, sovereignty, and safeguarding the security of the Lebanese from futile wars at the expense of the blood of Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis, Yemenis, and claim Lebanon as their ultimate homeland, with only allegiance to it, cannot be affected by the venom of defamation, bloodshed, and hidden deals," he added.
