Ahead of tomorrow's crucial parliamentary session for the presidential election, several Members of Parliament have publicly declared their positions on the vote.
MP Ibrahim Mneimneh confirmed that he will cast his vote in favor of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun. Similarly, MP Firas Hamdan expressed his intention to support the army commander during tomorrow’s session.
In contrast, MP Halima Qaaqour announced that she will vote for Ziad Baroud, questioning how a president can swear to uphold the constitution when he is assuming office in violation of it.
MP Yassin Yassin revealed his growing conviction towards General Aoun, noting that his support for the army commander is stronger than for other candidates. Yassin highlighted that the qualities emphasized by various political blocs—such as sovereignty, rescue, and reform—are reflected in General Aoun’s record, pointing to his proven commitment to protecting the constitution and the people during his time as army commander.
