Prince Harry May Target Camilla in Upcoming Memoir, Diana's Former Butler Claims

Prince Harry may target Camilla Parker Bowles in his upcoming memoir, Princess Diana's former butler has claimed.

Paul Burrell said the Duke of Sussex will "no doubt" address his feelings after his mother's death and the subsequent events.

In the book, due to be published in late 2022, Harry will share his "adventures, losses, and life lessons", publisher Penguin Random House said.

According to Mr Burrell, Diana's younger son could reveal "any Camilla secrets" as she "stepped into Diana's shoes".

If this happens, Harry's father Prince Charles, 72, would be "livid", Mr Burrell claimed.

Mr Burrell said: "After the reports she was involved in his parents' marriage and then stepped into Diana's shoes as Charles' wife, I suspect Camilla will be in his sights, so I'd say Harry's set to reveal any Camilla secrets."

He added to told Closer magazine : "He's already said he enjoys The Crown, which painted Camilla as the 'wicked stepmother' in a way. Charles will be livid if he does go there."

The former butler went on to claim that the Duke of Sussex "could very well name" the member of the Royal Family who allegedly made racist comments when Meghan Markle was pregnant with their son Archie.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, Harry and his wife said someone in the Firm raised concerns about how dark Archie's skin might be.

The Sussexes did not reveal the identity of the person who made the alleged comment, but after the interview Harry told Oprah it was not his grandmother, the Queen, or his grandfather, Prince Philip.

Mr Burrell said: "The publisher, Penguin, will no doubt want their money's worth in this book deal. That means they won't want vagueness – they'll want names and specifics."

The book is expected to be published at the end of next year and the author will be donating the proceeds to charity.

In his statement, Harry, 36, said he is "writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I've become".

He said: “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

Markus Dohle, CEO of Penguin Random House, said previously: “All of us at Penguin Random House are thrilled to publish Prince Harry ’s literary memoir and have him join the world-renowned leaders, icons, and change-makers we have been privileged to publish over the years.

“Prince Harry has harnessed his extraordinary life experience as a prince, a soldier, and a knowledgeable advocate for social issues, establishing himself as a global leader recognized for his courage and openness.

“It is for that reason we’re excited to publish his honest and moving story.”
