Royal Canadian Mounted Police said on Tuesday they charged a man in Ontario with uttering threats against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, just weeks after two other men were arrested on similar charges.
The police said the 33-year-old man had allegedly posted an online video making violent threats towards the prime minister, the police and any personnel who might attempt to interfere with his plans.
Following the assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Donald Trump last month, Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic Leblanc said Canadian security and law enforcement officials were exercising increased vigilance.
Last month, the police charged two Alberta men with uttering threats against Trudeau and other Canadian political leaders.
