Berjawi Family Tragedy Unfolds: Seven Lives Lost in Israeli Airstrike on Nabatieh

The initial death toll of the recent attack by the Israeli military in the southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh stands at seven, all belonging to the Berjawi family.

The attack targeted a residential apartment in the city center using a guided missile drone. Following over four hours of searching, rescue teams successfully extracted a child named Hussein Ali Amer from the rubble, alive.

Among those recovered were the apartment owner, Hussein Ahmad Daher Berjawi, his daughters Amani Hussein Berjawi and Zeinab Hussein Berjawi, his sister Fatima Ahmed Berjawi, and his granddaughter Zeinab's son, Mahmoud Ali Amer. The bodies were transported to hospitals in Nabatieh.

The search efforts persisted in the quest to locate the remains of Berjawi's wife, Amal Mahmoud Audi, and his niece, Ghadeer Tarhini. Additionally, Berjawi's son-in-law, Ali Amer, and over six wounded individuals were conveyed to medical facilities.

An airstrike inflicted severe damage to a three-story building, including the specified apartment, causing the structure to teeter on the brink of collapse due to extensive fissures. Surrounding buildings, parked vehicles on the street, and the electricity and telephone networks also incurred impact. Emergency response teams from the Civil Defense, the Islamic Health Authority, Nabatieh Ambulance, Islamic Message Scouts, and the Red Cross have been actively engaged in the affected area from nightfall through to the early morning hours.
