Authorities Conduct Forensic Tests on Rocket Fire Suspects

Lebanese authorities are conducting forensic fingerprint and DNA testing on three individuals suspected of involvement in the recent rocket fire from southern Lebanon into northern Israel, LBCI reported on Monday.

The detainees, two Lebanese nationals and one Syrian citizen, were taken into custody after being found near the launch site. Investigators are working to determine their level of involvement and verify any links to the attack.

Sources indicate that suspicion initially arose due to the suspects’ presence at the launch site, particularly the Syrian detainee, who was found in the area at 3 a.m. despite residing far from the location. However, no conclusions have been drawn, as authorities await the results of forensic tests to match fingerprints and DNA found on the launch platforms.

The arrests were announced on Saturday during a visit by Lebanese army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal to the South Litani Sector Command in Tyre. Haykal stated that the suspects were being interrogated, and further investigations were ongoing to establish accountability for the attacks.
