Audi: No Compromises!

Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut and its suburbs Archbishop Elias Audi on Sunday confirmed that there was no longer room for compromises as before, it was no longer permissible to manipulate the fate of the country and its people, and concerted efforts were required to save Lebanon.

“The initiative put out by a few of the so-called Change Deputies deserves to be supported by every deputy who is eager to fulfill his obligations and rescue the nation. The Parliament and its Speaker thereof must carry out their duties regardless of the situation or challenges,” Audi said during his weekly sermon.

He added that all parties involved must put aside their own agendas, resentments, and anything else that would stand in the way of finishing the forthcoming entitlement because having a president and an effective government was not a luxury but a necessity.

“We reaffirm the need to uncover the truth about the explosion at the Beirut Port and caution against interfering with the investigation in an effort to hide the truth. Isn't it better to aid the lead judge's work than to appoint a substitute investigator?” he noted.

Audi concluded that disrupting the lead investigator’s work and then coming up with a replacement was painful and shameful since it suggested that the perpetrators did not respect people's thinking or the suffering of the injured and the families of the deceased.
