The State Department statement – reportedly agreed to by both governments – marked a significant diplomatic shift. Internal Security Forces in Lebanon have arrested a Palestinian suspect involved in car and motorcycle thefts.
He confessed to stealing around 32 cars and 200 motorcycles from various locations in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
He operated with another Palestinian accomplice, who had been arrested previously for the same crimes.
The stolen vehicles were sold to an individual in Brital.
Legal actions have been taken against the suspects, and authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend other individuals involved in the theft ring.
