Lebanese security forces have discovered a suspected tunnel in a pine grove near Roueissat, an area under Hezbollah’s influence in the Metn district, according to local media reports.

MTV Lebanon reported that an unidentified person fled the site shortly after security forces arrived. Army Intelligence has launched an investigation into the incident.

Separately, LBCI reported that Lebanese Army engineering personnel were heading to a wooded area between Fanar and Zaitariyeh to inspect the site and determine its nature.

It remains unclear whether the structure is a tunnel or simply a deep pit. Authorities have not yet established its intended use or whether it has any military purpose.
