The head of the Executive Council of the Amal Movement, Mustafa Fawaz Fawaani, has issued a directive prohibiting all members of the movement from participating in or organizing any actions deemed provocative or contrary to the movement’s principles.
The decision, the statement noted, comes as part of the Amal Movement's ongoing efforts to preserve Lebanon’s unity and stability, emphasizing respect for the diversity of its regions and communities.
The directive specifically targets activities such as “motorcycle processions” and other displays of sectarian or regional slogans that could be seen as inflammatory or disruptive to public order.
The statement draws upon the philosophy of Imam Musa Sadr, the movement’s founder, who regarded internal unity as a critical component in the fight against external threats. It also echoes the words of Amal Movement leader Nabih Berri, who has repeatedly stressed the importance of national unity and coexistence as the foundation of Lebanon’s survival.
According to the directive, Amal members are strictly forbidden from participating in any activities that threaten public stability or disrespect the privacy of other Lebanese communities. The leadership highlighted its rejection of provocations that could endanger Lebanon’s fragile stability, reiterating its commitment to fostering harmony across all regions and sects.
The directive warned that any violation of these guidelines would result in strict disciplinary measures, including potential expulsion from the movement.
