Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka at the Grand Serail.

After the meeting, Wronecka said:  "I came here to inform the Prime Minister about the meeting of the Security Council in New York and what I said in my speech regarding the necessity of adhering to UN Resolution 1701 and implementing it on the ground, as well as 
the way to protect Lebanon from war in the region.”

"We also discussed the issue of reforms, the role of state institutions, and the presidential elections file,” she added.

Wronecka emphasized that the Security Council cares deeply about the situation in Lebanon.

“Lebanon plays a strategic role in the region. The stance of the Security Council is unified regarding Lebanon,” she affirmed.
