After a thorough investigation by Lebanese authorities, it was determined that the passports recently found in the possession of the wife and daughter of Dureid Al-Assad, the son of Refaat al-Assad, at Beirut Airport were not issued by the Syrian embassy in Lebanon, as initially suspected. Instead, they were issued by the Immigration Department in Aleppo, MTV broadcaster reported on Monday.

According to Asharq al-Awsat, the prison’s situation in Lebanon is very difficult. Prisoners are deprived of food and might even be at risk of starvation.
The State is currently unable to pay the foodstuff suppliers’ and caterers’ dues. In addition, the prisoners trials were postponed due to the Judges strike, the medical care is absent, and the cells are dirty.
One of the suppliers said that the state hasn’t paid them for the past 7 months. Therefore, they are threatening of stopping supplying the prisons once their contracts expire on April 4, especially since their dues were devaluated due to the increase in the dollar exchange rate.
