Telecommunications prices will rise whether the dollar increases or decreases. Internet packages now surpass the incomes of many households.

The increase will now include fees for fixed lines, call costs, and internet package prices for Ogero subscribers, who number 419,000 subscribers, compared to 600,000 subscribers in unofficial networks. Neighborhood providers' prices exceed the official tariff.

The prices of the two telecom companies have multiplied by 7, while Ogero's services have multiplied by 4.

Caretaker Minister of Communications Johnny Corm indicated during a meeting dedicated to discuss the telecommunications sector's affairs that Ogero's tarrif increase will be discussed in Thursday's Cabinet session.

He revealed that ministry has received preliminary approval to obtain solar energy from the Chinese side, noting that amount is approximately 8.50 million US dollars.
