Syrian and Lebanese Troops to Pull Out of Border Village Under New Agreement

The Syrian and Lebanese armies have agreed to withdraw from the border village of Hosh Al-Sayyid Ali to allow the return of civilians, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported on Wednesday.

Colonel Abdul Monhem Daher, commander of the 1st Brigade in the Syrian Arab Army’s 52nd Division, said the agreement was reached after communication and coordination between the liaison officers of both countries' militaries.

“As part of the agreement, Syrian and Lebanese army units will withdraw from the lands of Hosh Al-Sayyid Ali, ensuring the return of civilians without any military presence inside the village, with both sides stationed on its outskirts,” Daher said.

He added that the Syrian army is committed to implementing the agreement and warned that any breach by Hezbollah would be met with a swift and direct response without prior warning.
