Real Madrid Not Open to Cristiano Ronaldo Return

There is only one player that Real Madrid are focusing on signing in the remaining 14 days of this transfer window and that is Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, despite reports that Los Blancos would be open to the return of their all-time record goalscorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Juventus forward is keen on leaving the club, while the Bianconeri themselves would be open to his departure as it would facilitate the arrivals of Manuel Locatelli and Miralem Pjanic, two players Massimiliano Allegri wants the club to sign.

MARCA reported last Sunday that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus are seeking a solution to his future, but no answer has been found.

Cristiano Ronaldo still has a great relationship with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti from their time working together in the Italian's first spell in charge, with El Chiringuito reporting on Monday night that they have been in contact in the last few days. However, Real Madrid are not considering a move for the 36-year-old at this moment in time.

Although Real Madrid are at the top of Cristiano Ronaldo's wish list if he is to leave Juventus, the feeling is not reciprocated by the 13-time European champions. After all, a few months ago he offered himself to Los Blancos but they decided to not make a move.

Ancelotti's arrival

The return of Ancelotti as head coach saw some hope begin to emerge that a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo could be possible, but that is not the way that Real Madrid's leaders have been thinking.

For Juventus, they see Cristiano Ronaldo's departure as essential due to the financial situation they are currently in. They have a pressing need to lighten the wage burden of the first-team squad.

The problem for both Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo is that none of the teams they have called have been receptive to the possible arrival of the forward.

On Monday afternoon, rumours about his future were widespread. In Italy they was talk of Cristiano Ronaldo being offered to Manchester City, or potentially to Paris Saint-Germain if Mbappe leaves.

The truth is that the end of the transfer window is approaching and both Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus have not found a solution to a situation that is becoming very tricky.
