Inter Milan Sanctioned Over Racist Chants

Inter Milan has been given a suspended sanction of closing one of its stands for a match, following racist chants made by the club's fans during the latest game on Sunday.

In a statement, the Italian league stressed that "a significant percentage" of fans were heard saying racist chants against AC Milan midfielder, Franck Kessie, in the seventh and 39th minutes of the first half.

The sentence will be suspended for a year, but will be added to any other sanction that may be handed to the club if its supporters commit the same racist abuse during that period.
