Shakira Rocks Coachella, Drops World Tour Bombshell

Colombian music icon Shakira electrified the audience at Coachella 2024, making a surprise announcement about her forthcoming world tour. The announcement was part of a dynamic performance alongside Argentine DJ Bizarrap, featuring their new song “La Fuerte.”

Emerging dramatically on stage, Shakira captured the crowd’s attention as the backdrop of the Sahara stage lit up with the announcement, “Shakira, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.” Excitedly, she told the crowd, “Finally, we are going on tour. Starting here, this November in this city, can’t wait. Couldn’t ask for more.”

Her upcoming tour is named after her 12th studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” her first in seven years. The album, which was released last month, explores themes of personal growth and recovery post-heartbreak, drawing on her own experiences, including her split from former partner and Barcelona soccer player Gerard Pique.

The day before her Coachella performance, Shakira teased the announcement on Instagram with the enigmatic message, “The wolf is coming.” She later confirmed the news in another post, expressing her excitement to hit the road and “celebrate with my wolfpack.”

This series of concerts will be Shakira’s first since her 2018 “El Dorado” tour.

Coachella 2024 is also featuring performances by Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, and Tyler, the Creator, among others like Sabrina Carpenter, Suki Waterhouse, and Lil Uzi Vert. The festival is spread over two weekends, from April 12-14 and April 19-21, in the Colorado Desert.
