Security Forces to Deploy at Beirut Shelters in New Stability Initiative

A new security initiative is set to launch next week at the entrances of shelters in Beirut, aimed at enhancing safety and stability for both the displaced and local residents, the Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa newspaper reported.

The operation, to be overseen by Lebanon's State Security agency, will deploy security personnel at shelter entrances in a move designed to maintain order, spread a sense of peace, and reassure the community. This step is expected to provide relief to both the displaced people and Beirut’s residents.

According to informed political sources, the State Security agency is finalizing logistical preparations for this deployment. The security team has been assessing the conditions of the shelters as well as the areas where a small number of refugees have gathered in public spaces.

"This deployment aims to protect the displaced, ensure the comfort of Beirut’s residents, and strengthen social security," the sources said.

The initiative has already garnered significant support from key figures, including Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, and various political forces.
