The Israeli military has renewed its call for civilians in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately as clashes with Hezbollah continue. The evacuation warning was first issued on Wednesday.

While the visit by Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Commander Rodolphe Haykal to Washington to discuss military cooperation reaffirmed the importance of sustained support for the LAF in its efforts to defend state sovereignty and advance Hezbollah’s disarmament, the visit of French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot to Beirut to coordinate preparations for a March conference in Paris backing the LAF underscored growing international pressure on the issue. These visits coincided with a congressional hearing dedicated to Hezbollah’s disarmament, as well as the introduction of a new bill by congressmen Darrell Issa (R-California) and Darin LaHood (R-Illinois) seeking to sanction “any foreign person or entity that hinders, obstructs or delays Lebanon’s electoral process.”

As the world is marking today (March 22) the World Water Day under the "Leaving No One Behind" theme, the United Nations brought to light shocking facts and figures to draw attention to the difficulties that people in certain countries around the world are facing to access the vital resource.
The UN said that as many as 2.1 billion people have no safe water at home, and that almost two-thirds of the world’s people have issues finding water in at least one month of the year.
It also warned that the failure to access water could force about 700 million people around the world to leave their homes by 2030.
