Saudi FM Concerned Over War Spillover to Lebanon, Says No Political Horizon for Conflict

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan expressed the Kingdom’s concern over the risk of the war expanding in Lebanon, casting doubt over a potential solution to the ongoing conflict.

"We are worried about the risk of the war expanding to Lebanon and see no political horizon," the Saudi FM said in his address at the annual meeting of the European Council on Foreign Relations in Madrid.

The Saudi minister stated that a ceasefire in Gaza might help ease tensions on the Israel-Lebanon border, noting, however, that there is still no sign of an imminent breakthrough in the Gaza Strip.

He emphasized that the Kingdom supports the deployment of an international force in Gaza with a UN mandate to support the Palestinian Authority.
