Last week, Israeli aircraft bombed the Abu Al Duhur air base in Syria. The Israelis initially failed to admit responsibility for the attack, but to a number of observers it was very reminiscent of the attacks in April last year against the Hama and T4 air bases. Caretaker Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, on Wednesday welcomed a World Bank delegation, which relayed to him the official approval of the Bank's Board of Directors of the food security project.
This project aims to enhance food security in Lebanon through agriculture, alternative energy, and irrigation projects (GATE).
The meeting reportedly discussed the future steps and the role of relevant ministries in making this project a success, especially the role of the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
The conferees agreed to give the necessary impetus to this vital project to contribute to rebuilding the national economy.
