Roumieh Prison Administration Decides to Cancel Medicines Prescribed Under Supervision of a Doctor

Addiyar newspaper learned that  Roumieh central prison administration has taken a decision to cancel medicines prescribed under the supervision of a doctor."

Inmates were appalled to know that two drugs, sensitive to those who suffer from amputation, will be banned without warning.

They confirmed that the medical center contains large quantities of antidotes and wonder why they each had to personally paid 4 million LBP for a doctor consultation is there was no need for it after all.

The newspaper stated, "About 185 prisoners from the convict's building are preparing to rebel against the prison administration’s unfair decision, especially since it is not permissible to prevent any of these drugs without going back to the doctor."

In this context, a security source told Addiyar: “Securing these medications is, despite all obstacles, our priority."

And he stressed, "It is not permissible to cancel either of them without medical advice once the patient improves, because he might suffer a seizure again."
