The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has ordered residents of the town of Alma al-Shaab to evacuate by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, local sources said.
Some residents had previously refused to leave, remaining in the town despite earlier warnings, the reports added.
The mayor of Alma al-Shaab said the ceasefire monitoring committee, known as the Mechanism, had informed both the peacekeeping forces and the Lebanese Army, which then relayed the evacuation order to local authorities.
Al-Hadath reported that residents are expected to gather in the town’s central square tomorrow to leave under UN supervision.
