Report: Syrian Regime Officials Flee to Lebanon with Hezbollah's Help

High-ranking members of the recently toppled Syrian regime have fled to Lebanon with the assistance of Hezbollah, Israeli Kan public broadcaster revealed.

The dramatic fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime has reportedly led to the escape of several prominent figures, including Assad's family members, intelligence officials, and key business associates.

Among those allegedly crossing into Lebanon is Ali Mamlouk, the former director of Syria’s national security bureau. Mamlouk has been a fugitive wanted by the Lebanese government since 2012 for allegedly orchestrating plans to assassinate Lebanese political and religious leaders. Additionally, he has faced international charges, with France issuing a warrant for his arrest in 2018 on accusations of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The report claims that Hezbollah operatives facilitated the escape by providing the fleeing officials with Lebanese license plates, enabling their clandestine movement into Beirut. It is believed that the individuals are now located in Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital.
