US President Donald Trump argued late on Tuesday that Iran had violated its nuclear deal with world powers “long before” he came to power and pulled out of the accord.
“Iran was violating the 150 Billion Dollar (plus 1.8 Billion Dollar in CASH) Nuclear Deal with the United States, and others who paid NOTHING, long before I became President - and they have now breached their stockpile limit. Not good!” Trump tweeted.
In response, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani declared on Wednesday that the country will increase uranium enrichment beyond 3.67% after July 7, as reported by Reuters.
“If remaining signatories of nuclear deal do not fulfill promises then after July 7, the Arak nuclear reactor will return to its previous activities”, Rouhani threatened.
“In any amount that we want, any amount that is required, we will take over 3.67. Our advice to Europe and the United States is to go back to logic and to the negotiating table. Go back to understanding, to respecting the law and resolutions of the U.N. Security Council. Under those conditions, all of us can abide by the nuclear deal,” Rouhani said during a Cabinet meeting in Tehran.
